Treasurer, Term 2001 / 2002 The Audio Engineering Society Singapore Section’s 8th AGM was held on June 29, 2002, at the Straits Ballroom at Hotel Rendezvous. Attended by some 27 members (2 of whom were guests of members and signed up during the course of the event) and 23 guests, the event was MC’ed by the always-affable Mr. Norman Lim who had been MC at several previous AGMs. The MC invited guests were invited to enjoy a sumptuous high tea buffet, and then the official proceedings for the annual general meeting started. First there was the video playback of an address by AES VP International Region, Mr. Neville Theile, and covered the reasons for membership in the AES. The outgoing Chairman, Mr. Robert Soo, addressed the audience and spoke about the past year and the steps forward that the Singapore Section has taken in the past 12 months. Among the highlights was the first AES Seminar held in conjunction with Broadcast Asia, the premier broadcast exhibition and conference held annually in Singapore. The outgoing treasurer, Mr. Kenneth Delbridge, presented the audited accounts for the Section. Then, The outgoing secretary, Mr. P. V. Anthony, also addressed the members from the floor, raising some suggestions that the incoming committee agreed to address in the coming term. Then a nomination committee headed by Mr. Raymond Tan Boon Siong and Mr. Vincent Chan then proceeded with the nomination of the new committee and the new team was duly elected. The elected officers included 3 AES members serving on the committee for the first time. The new chairman, Mr. Kenneth J. Delbridge, briefly addressed the audience before the outgoing committee was given mementoes for their service in the past year. The highlight of the event was the lucky draw that included prizes from sponsors that included Asia Sound, Peak Fusion, MTV Asia, Nickelodeon, Walt Disney & Sony AXN. After all of the prizes were distributed, there were group photos of all present members as well as the incoming and outgoing committees before the 8th AGM was concluded.
